We don't have a garden. We live in a big, noisy, often depressing block of flats.

We also have a north-facing window, so we can't really grow any plants that need direct sunlight. Which unfortunately rules out most plants we were interested in growing.

But a few months ago J bought a Gloxinia tuber.

And it's started to flower!!

  1. And it's beautiful too!!

Hi, I live in a block of flats too, did not realise you were so close, just up the road in Edinburgh!
I think us flat dwellers have a special kind of existence which only fellow flat dwellers would understand!
Sorry you are feeling your flat looks depressing, the flower certainly brightens things up! I find when I take photos inside my flat they always come out looking dingy and depressing, but in fact my flat is not dingy or dark at all!

  3. Gorgeous, An incredible Creator to make such beauty.
