Small World

Well, actually I mean small town!

I was selling at another craft fair yesterday and ran into two people I knew fro craft clubs, one person I took a class with, 2 people who knew me from the bead fair and one who had bought a pincushion from me in the last fair.

It must be crazy for the people who've actually lived in this city for more than a year!

Do you live in a small town? Do you ever get used to running into people you know?

I grew up in a relatively small town, and the best thing about it was running into people I knew wherever went. It's what I love about Eagle Rock, too. Even in Baltimore, which is basically a small city, I used to run into folks I knew pretty often. What's more surprising to me is when I DON'T run into certain people over time.

Hey, are you coming back to LA for the holidays?

  2. What weirds me out is that whenever I hear about a person, no matter who they are, I know someone who knows them, somehow! I try to see it as serendipitous rather than scary, but must always be careful about who I say what to!

  3. I live in a small town (17,000 is small to me) & I just take it in stride that I'm going to run into someone that knows me. I love it most of the time since everyone's so friendly - but once in a while I have to remind myself to not dress like a slob and comb my hair cause you know that will be the day I see the most people.

  4. Suzanne - That has actually happened to me at Eagle Rock, dad once ran into tom and frannie at Trader Joes!
Nope, I'm staying here for the holidays.

    Sarah - That's crazy!

Tamdoll - Lol. Those pesky social pressures, like combing hair. Who needs them!
