Moved on to socks

Finally dyed that sock yarn I got last week.
Logwood
It's using logwood. Not sure if you can tell from this pic but there's very subtle color variations. Sadly I don't have a ball winder, so it took forever to wind this purple guy. I'm not sure what I'll make with it, socks no doubt. Sadly I don't have Cookie A's sock book, and I probably can't wait until Christmas (I'm assuming someone will buy me the book) to make something out of it, but that does mean I get to have fun browsing patterns on ravelry.

Lovely color! I'm experimenting as well, only not with yarn, exactly. I've been felting old sweaters and now I'm trying to make something with them. Probably an odd-sized pillow or lap rug for one of Regan's dogs. Very exciting. I've been in a knitting funk, despite having goo gobs of new yarn and lots of ideas. Tonight I'm going to start a beret - i'd knitted one with recycled yarn and finished it, only to discover that it looked dreadful, so I ripped it out. Maybe this one will stick!

  2. There's a pattern for a cabled purse made from a cut sweater somewhere on the internet...
I saw someone with a cabled interesting purse the other day, but I couldn't get close enough to see if she made it herself.
